Mr. Paramanand Hirdaramani commenced business with a small retail store in Fort, Downtown Colombo, Sri Lanka.
1940s1946Hirdaramani Ltd. is incorporated with clothing and accessory retail stores in Colombo and Kandy.
1950s & 1960sThe Group's first large-scale factory, Hirdaramani Industries Limited, commences shirt manufacturing for own brands 'Popular' and 'Diplomat'.
1970s1974Ceylon Knit Trend Ltd. is incorporated to manufacture cut-sew knit garments for export, a pioneering step in the Sri Lankan Apparel industry.
1980s1983Two of the Group's factories are destroyed in the July 1983 riots and recommence operation within 6 months.
1984Regency Chittagong formed to start Hirdaramani Apparel Bangladesh | Creation of Comtextile HK Limited Trading Operation.
1986The first investment in Hotels: Airport Garden Hotel Seeduwa.
1990s1992Ceylon Knit Trend Ltd., Eheliyagoda and Hirdaramani Industries Ltd., Kuruwita are built to expand capacity and footprint in Sri Lanka.
1994Formation of Fashion Garments in Ho Chi Minh to start Hirdaramani Apparel Vietnam.
1996The Group's first backward integration investment into knit fabric manufacturing Ocean Lanka in collaboration with Fountain Set, Hong Kong.
1997Second investment in Hotels - Taj Resort and Spa, Bentota.
20002000Kenpark Chittagong is formed to expand Hirdaramani Apparel Bangladesh.
2000Hirdaramani Group HQ moved to World Trade Centre, Colombo.
2003Third investment in Hotels - Hilton Colombo Residences.
2007The Group expands production, washing capacity and capabilities in Bangladesh with entry into KEPZ.
2008Hirdaramani launches the Long Island Clothing Co, re-entering the retail market.
2009‘Mihila’, the world's first custom-built LEED certified Apparel factory opens - eventually certified carbon neutral and Fair Trade.
20102010Expansion in Vietnam with opening of large-scale integrated sewing, printing, embellishment and washing facility at Fashion Garments, Tan Phu.
2010Formation of Wind Force PLC - the Group's first investment in renewable energy in Sri Lanka, 300MW+ globally.
2012The Group's first investment in the North of Sri Lanka post civil war - Hirdaramani Fashions (Pvt) Ltd, Vavuniya.
2012Launch of H-Connect, the Group's Finance BPO & Shared Services business.
2013Launch of Chatham Luxury Watches, the Group's entry to the Luxury retail sector.
2015Opening of Fashion Garments Quang Nam P5 and Ducksan Vina, a JV fabric mill in Danang, Vietnam.
